The distrubances are related to abnormal intestinal function during sleep. You can read the details of the finding in Sleep and gastric function in IBS. I experienced troubled sleep patterns and weird dreams/nightmares for many years. During the past 5-6 years I have gotten my symptoms under control primarily with diet management. The dreams/nightmares have stopped and my sleep returned to normal. Once you get your diet under control and the symptoms have decreased you may experience the same thing. What meals and snacks did you have yesterday? Do you drink pop or fruit juices?
