Please???       01/13/11 08:21 PM Edit Reply Quote skh Reged: 08/05/09 Posts: 151 i have also had the mucous problem at times. i just discussed this with my GI who told me it's a symptom of ibs-d. he said mucous is normal and it's passed usually within BMs of "normal people". having ibs-d it seems to be more prone to come out after BMs instead of during them (where u wouldn't normally see it) he also said the intestines also exfoliate sort of like our skin, etc so often there will be those particles and such that come out with the mucus. he said it's related to the ibs. i find i pass it more so after i've been backed up abit and then it seems to happen then. if i'm having a normal day and a normal bm i don't see it at all. i take the acacia fiber and i also take lomotil as needed for urgency issues. it helped me more than anything i've tried so far.
