Thanx!

It's indeed pretty confusing when you already trying a hard diet I don't really think my IBS is caused by allergies or intolerances.
I do have very heavy peanut allergy and also to beans and soy in a lesser attempt, so I know what that feels like. During pregnancy I had ao lactose/dairy intolerance, with very discomforting bloating; disappeared completely after pregnancy (?) Also cut out all dairy for 2 weeks before, but didn't help for my symptoms now.

I know different allergies/intolerances can cause different symptoms, but my symptoms now don't really indicate intolerances I guess. I don't have bloating/gas and no real D. My nausea is totally associated with gut-movements or when I'm constipated. To me, it really seems I 'just' have pretty bad visceral hypersensitivity. (also going to try hypnotherapy in a few weeks)

But I've been reading about the FODMAP diet, and decited to try. Even though I don't think that's going to help me, I read that most people notice relief in the first week.
So I'll eat no wheat, just banana and some FODMAP/EFI-save veggies for 1 week. If it doesn't give me any relief, I'll assume I don't have intolerance/malabsorptions problems.

I've done electro-accupuncture testing and this docter told me I should cut out sugar (sucrose) and honey... Although I also didn't notice any relief while avoiding this, it's one of the reasons I'm trying to avoid the FODMAPs etc for 1 week.

I'm using stool softeners (forlax/macrogol), they should not be 'addictive', I don't need more of them over time (6 months now ).
I indeed found the benefiber Syl suggested and ordered it. Hopefully I can slowly switch off the stoolsofters (it also contains a sweetener; sodium-saccharinate?).
I don't have real D, just very soft stools every now en then, mostly from taking too much laxative (what I need changes) or some infection.
My IBS started post-infectious, the first 3 months I did have very soft and frequent (3x daily) BM, but after another stomach-flu it suddenly changed to IBS-C.

Anyway, still no progression in symptoms

PI-IBS-C/A nausea & very bad gastric pain
meds: lansoprazol+macrogol
started EFI +FODMAPs 1/2011. 'Relapse' for 8 months. Now partly back on track again with the diet..
