IBS is incurable and yes not eating triggers helps not get blowups but doesn't mean you feel good. I have this exactly. You can only do so much with diet; unless you have an extra food intolerance. Beyond that fiber, water intake, sleeping, stress relief, exercise, how and when you eat all play a factor. D is pretty controllable when you have gotten these things down correctly. Bloating and pain can be relentless. IBS is incurable because no one really knows what it exactly is.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
