I don't think the SCD is junk science. Many people have been helped by it, as I've read on other forums. I did not follow that particular diet, but rather a low carb/high protein diet....somewhat of an antifungal diet. I know for me personally, I don't do well with a lot of grains (particularly wheat) and sugar, processed or otherwise. Others can eat those things with no visible problems. After going on an antifungal diet, and staying on a modified version even now, I feel so much better than before. So, it was cause/effect for me. Coincidental, or not, if I got well after experimenting with the diet, I've got to think my symptoms were fungus related. I had taken antibiotics over my teen years, was on the birth control pill for a number of years, and lived in water-damaged homes with damp basements, providing many opportunities for fungus to proliferate through my body. There are over 400 kinds of fungus known to cause disease in man. I don't care if there is not a book, person, or double-blind study to explain why I got well. I just know what worked for me, and intend to keep on that path. You won't know what is the right thing, until you at least try it. No one can predict the outcome for you with certainty.
You would be better NOT to post other comments about the SCD, or other diets on this board, (maybe the living room?)as this board deals with Heather's diet and such comments as ours are off topic and have no place here.
