I don't post very often anymore - I used to be more active on here back a few years ago. Anyway, I have always wanted to be able to take calcium, but tried all the different brands and just got gas and cramps from them. A few weeks ago I tried one of the 'whole food' calcium supplements that are made from food instead of rocks.

I got them from a company called New Chapter, and they are called Bone Strength Take Care. They have Vit D3, Calcium, Magnesium and Vit K - all the important things for bone health. I was skeptical, but had heard that food supplements are so much easier for your stomach to digest because it recognizes the food they are made of and knows what to do with it, while things like Citrical are made from rock. So I tried it, taking only 1 a day for a couple days and working my way up to the 3 you are suppose to take - they are pretty small. Well, not only did I not get any bad side effects, it has made me feel a ton better. Since calcium is a muscle relaxer, Heather talks about the use of calcium for IBS in her book, I haven't had any intestinal spasms, cramps or gas since I started using them - that was almost a month ago. Sleeping better too.

So I just wanted to share that with those of you who wish you could get more calcium, but have trouble taking the supplements. I am in no way affiliated with New Chapter, I just heard of this company from some friends and checked out their website and the many reviews on sites like Vitamin Shoppe.com. Many of the people said that they couldn't take supplements before they found these. I'm going to try the multivitamins soon too. Hope this helps others!
