This is different that IBS which is a term used to describe an assortment of GI symptoms, for which no organic casue can be found. It might be better for you to post on this topic in the classification below which is titled "Crohn's Disease and Colitis Board". It is difficult to understand the statement "my pedi thinks I need to give up my "obsessive" quest to find a cause and accept that it is IBS and just try to deal with the symptoms". He/she can be forgiven for not understanding Microscopic Colitis, as he/she probably has never seen a case before. However, -- if there is resistance to learning about something new – then that is unforgivable, at least in my book. In reality, the cause(s) of Microscopic (Lymphocytyc) Colitis are NOT KNOWN at this point in time. It is most often considered to be something of an Auto-Immune condition -- what has triggered this type of situation is ???? Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
