I started taking the acacia fiber/tummy tamer a couple of weeks ago and haven't really found it to be helping, if anything it seems to be making things somewhat worse. I tried starting with the recommended 1/4 tsp twice a day, and that was far too much, so I went down to 1/8, or even 1/8 once a day, but still my stomach/abdomen just never seemed to settle. I haven't tried to increase it at all, for fear that I might push my body too fast, but even with staying at such a low amount nothing seems to have settled, and I feel like my abdomen is always grumbly and agitated, especially after I have eaten something (which is quite often as I never have meals and really snack throughout the day). Has anyone found this, or has found that the acacia fiber just isn't for them? I also take Align (probiotics), which I have considered possibly stopping for a bit to see if that is interacting oddly with the fiber (though I can't see why it would be).
Before I started the fiber supplement, I would occasionally have cramps in the mornings or when I had to go to the washroom, very rarely IBS-D, and sometimes gas, but could often trace that to foods I had recently ate, but now the agitation and discomfort seems much more consistent throughout the day. Any input would be great! thanks
