I do have pain, usually lower left, however, it's been greatly reduced; both in intensity and frequency. I follow the FODMAP guidelines pretty strictly and also ensure I have soluble fibre (oatmeal, white rice, rice pasta, potatoes, gluten-free products, and occasionally wheat-based bread and pasta) as the basis of my meals. If you look at the article Syl has just posted, the reference tables at the end are particularly useful, and I stick to the foods on the safe list, while following Heather's advice on SF/IF/triggers etc.
