Hi, Just thought I'd chime in here. I'm here because my child has IBS, however, I'm replying to you because when she was frighteningly sick *I* am the one who lost hair! I really have no doubt that in my case this was from the horrendous emotional and physical stress that I was under for many months. I add 'physical stress' because, for example, neither of us got more than 2 hours of sleep in a row for far too long. Now, if I could lose hair - and I wasn't the one w/IBS! - I think that gives a good picture of the enormous stress load of the IBS sufferer - who's got the pain to deal with! So, I've got a hunch that it's no wonder that someone with a bad bout of IBS might lose hair! BTW, my hair started growing back as the stress load went down - once my daughter was not in pain and could sleep and began to regain some weight and look and feel better. (I am still exhausted from the ordeal, BTW, but my daughter is recovering much quicker! Ah, youth!) Good luck w/your own recovery, kem (daughter w/ibs-d)
