Its interesting, about a year ago I was in the almost exact same boat
I was a 17 year old male, about 135 pounds at 5'10. I was advised by some doctors who thought I was underweight to load up on calories, which led me to eat way too many cabs, including wheat products, as well as sugary-juice and products. I didn't see immediately effects of gluten products, but I was often very gassy
Anyway, I switched to a new doctor, made a lot of lifestyle and diet chances, and have improved since. I still have work to do, but I think theres a fair chance the GF diet helped. You don't have to have celiac to benefit from going off gluten
I would try giving it a shot for a few weeks/months. It will be really difficult to find enough food at first, but within a month, you should not even miss wheat. My advice would be to stay away from GF imitation bread loaves. I usually eat corn, quinoa, potatos, and rice for grains in my diet. Good luck!
