Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Since I found this board and started eating following the EFI guidelines. Last night was the first night I "cheated" and boy did I pay for it!

We were out to dinner with some of my husband's co-workers and I (stupidly, I know) didn't want to make a fuss that there really wasn't much I could safely eat on the menu. So, I ordered what I would have ordered pre-EFI, a club sandwich (minus cheese and bacon) and it came with fries. When the food arrived the sandwich was dripping with butter. I should have known better, but I ate half the sandwich and a few fries. I felt fine during the dinner, but at midnight I woke up with the WORST stomach ache and had to make a couple of trips to the bathroom. So not worth it!! Next time I'll be more prepared and check the menu beforehand so I don't get stuck like I did last night.

The GOOD news in all of this, is that I am really confident now that this diet is working for me. The last 2 months have been much better for me (not 100%, but I know that I never will be) and last night was a real eye opener. Anyway, just wanted to share!
