aperson, it can be very hard to differentiate between, say, gastrointestinal cramping and uterine cramping. Abdominal cramping may be a sign of a problem with the pregnancy, though in this case it's probably not. Jhuggs meant for the original poster to call her Ob-Gyn, not her regular doctor. Someone with IBS who is not pregnant does not need to call their doctor every time they have a twinge or cramp or spasm.
