Does anyone have experience with Ayurvedic cooking?
I found the Perfect Digestion book by Chopra at the library and read it last weekend. It has made a big difference just this week, I did not have the usual severe cramps and urgency in the a.m.
Now when I get up in the morning, I microwave a cup of filtered water ~90 seconds, set out my soy yogurt to warm to room temp (instead of eating it cold). When the water cools just enough to drink, I slowly sip it and sit for a few minutes. Then I eat my warm yogurt with Acacia and Chia Goodness cereal - I learned about the chia seeds from this site. I also now do not do other things while eating like driving, watching TV, or working.
The book recommends putting sesame oil on before showering which is impossible with my schedule. At Wal-mart I found a fragrance free Neutrogena light sesame body oil I use after showering, I do not know how this affects digestion but is does help with winter dryness and feels relaxing.
I also started a beginning balance ball work out every other day and walking more often. I feel like my lower abdomen is starting to regenerate, I hope this lasts.
I ordered Ayurvedic cookbooks from the library, I am looking forward to some new recipes that are hopefully IFE friendly.
