Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Advise, Help, Information Please...

I thought I knew what bloating was, however, the past week has been a very scary adventure!
Going through a lot of stress at work/school + family issues & dealing with bulging disc, herniated disc, deg. disc. disease & decisions regarding treatment.
Usually that sends me into IBS-D, and it did for about 2 weeks, then suddenly not full blown C, but even if I 'go' - I have horrible bloating of my transverse colon/stomach area - above my waist, even up into my chest and between shoulder blades - like trapped gas. This has happened all week no matter what I eat and even during the day causes rapid hb and feeling like I can't stand my pants and bra (excuse me, guys

) one more minute. I feel like I'm going to pop!

Question: Has anyone else experienced this? I apply heat and even sleep with a heating pad, but wake up approx. every 2 hours shaking, heart pounding, mouth dry and this horrible feeling - really in my diaphragm area and into my chest.
My regular dr. always says it's just stress and IBS. Another dr. thinks I may be having panic attacks in my sleep. But, this bloating never goes away.
I would appreciate info from anyone who has experienced this.
