With all the potential causes and diets/supplements/meds I've tried over the years, the most progress I've made is a reduction in number of BM's per day (currently averaging 2 which is down from 4 or 5). I've never had to worry about pain/discomfort so my nemesis is proving to be urgency. Even those 2 movements a day are with urgency. So with urgency being a predominant symptom of IBS-D, I know it's superfluous to even ask this question but is there anything that's useful for treating just urgency?

For those of you who say they're stable, I'm just wondering on what criteria you base it on?

Syl...are you still taking Melatonin? I've been taking it for a couple weeks now and I haven't noticed any changes in anything.

IBS-D. Or so a doctor says.
