You are right here in what you say.

I would like to add that it is not so much about the original cause per se, nor official multiple diagnoses, as it is about managing your symptoms in ways that work for you personally.

Heather provides lots of good information about stabilizing and staying stabilized in quite simple ways.

Once you are certain that you have IBS and not polyps nor tumors, I say forget about medical doctors. They rarely know anything about actually treating IBS. As a result, doctors and further diagnoses are no longer needed.

My internist confirmed my IBS diagnosis last November after performing the colonoscopy, and then sweetly told me "See you again in 10 years !!! When I asked her what I needed to do to manage this condition, she simply stated "Eat more fiber, and take OTC Imodium." Thanks a lot!

Thank the Lord for Heather's books and basic products available. At least now if I blow it eating something that does not agree with me, I have what I need and know what to increase to get over a flare-up.

I refuse to stress and trip about all of this. Living simply helps significantly to keep the stress level down too! It's not just about food, it's also about life-style.

I'm looking forward to getting a kitten as soon as I can. I've missed my aged cat for a year now. For me, there is nothing like holding a warm fuzzy cat and listening to it purr for me.
