Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol. Sugar alcohols like xylitol and sorbitol are used as sweetners. They are known to cause bloating, diarrhea, and flatulence even in normal individuals when ingested.

As long as the spray does not drain down the nasal passages into the throat and stomach it might be okay.

If you try it please tell us how it goes.
