Generally speaking with IBS a colonoscopy looks normal. IBS is a syndrome with no visible or other detectable GI problems. You will have to wait until your biospy comes back before you will have any clues as to what might be the problem.

You might check out the symptoms of IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) of which colitis is one example.
