I have always wondered if they were related. Mine is severe and it is extremely painful to sit. I've received a caudal epidural and steroid shots for it. I've heard that a colonscopy could cause tailbone pain if there is trauma to the tailbone durin the procedure-- but this was just through Google that I found that info.. so not sure if it is accurate.
