Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Advice, please....+ Venting!

Hi, Everyone -
I haven't been around much - it's been a nasty summer!

I've had a lot of stress - mainly related to my job - due to budget cuts at school, job changes and a new principal... only working a day here and there...add money worries to that...So, I know my stress level has been off the chart. So, this isn't the usual encouraging GaGa...it's just Wah! Wah! Wah!

I also have been dealing with back/knee issues - bulging discs, pinched nerves, sciatica and was working with a chiropractor and an orthopedist on that. Getting ready to start physical therapy and try to get back on a track to wellness.

Now, a new issue - I fell and tore ligaments in my foot/ankle and fractured a bone in the back of my ankle. Due to all the swelling, it took them 4 days to make a final diagnosis and get me in a boot. So, I'm spending most of my time on the couch w/ ice...

I was supposed to work this week, but could not = guilt + stress, even though I am way ahead of the game in preparation for next school year. But, I have an Asst. Prin. who knows little, but likes to take your information and present it as hers, then most of the time tries to be your buddy - but, when you're down and out, she hits you with her professional voice - "I just need to know you are going to get this done?" Crap! I've been doing the job of 2 people for over 10 years, plus, she doesn't even know all I do unless I tell her, plus I've done part her work in addition to mine for the last year! So, add hurt to the equation...

Please tell me if this sounds normal: I have had diarrhea ever since the accident on Saturday. I mean the kind where you pray you are going to make it. Try running to the bathroom on crutches - not a pretty sight!

So, now I'm more stressed and worried about going back to work and not being fast enough to get the bathroom!
Next I'll be worried about worrying!

it's just been a long time since I've had diarrhea this long. But, I'm sure it's the anxiety and my Xanax just doesn't seem to be calming as much as it usually does.

I've also had sinus/ear issues + vertigo, but just don't want to go back on another antibiotic, which just causes more diarrhea...

All this, combined, with other physical issues, makes me just want to quit my job (financially impossible) and go to the house!

Thanks for letting me vent. I know God has never failed me and He will bring me through... just a little weary right now.
