Hi,
Just read the newsletter and something caught my eye. I've followed the IBS diet for quite some time now and have figured out what I can/cannot eat. I was doing well. I had gained alot of weight that I contributed to stress and not exercising at all and in January started to get exercising, eating better portions, etc. I was taking a B12 supplement that all of a sudden seemed to cause tons of painful bloating. Liquid supplements did not work either. Ended up seeing my dr. who put me on B12 shots. Those seem okay. However, I just keep getting this awful bloating that starts when I start eating and gradually gets worse by the end of the day. So by nighttime, I'm miserable. When I wake up, I feel really good and my stomach size looks normal. I recently had surgery for a umbilical hernia and I thought this would solve my problem. My bloating is all right above my belly button area, that area gets harder and tender as the bloating gets worse. When I take the tummy tamers, I have burping that happens with a slight peppermint taste. Not alot of burping, but definately more than I normally have. In the newsletter today, Heather mentioned that if this happens, you may have a low stomach acid level. In further searching, I'm thinking this is a possibility. The symptoms looked very familiar. Has anyone else had this problem? I can't find alot of information on how they confirm this. Sorry for the long explanation, but I've been really frustrated! Thanks!
