All probiotics may cause a bit of gas or bloating for a week or more when you first start. Digestive Advantage may be a reasonable probiotic but it has little clinical evidence to show that it is effective for IBS. A very small clinical trial was done using digestive advantage but the results have never been published in a peer-reviewed medical journal. There isn't a independent assessment of the value of digestive advantage for IBS.

The two most research probiotics for IBS are Align and VSL#3. Here is a link to a message I posted recently that you may find informative. Generally speaking only probiotics containing Bifidobacterium have been shown to be clinically effective for IBS.
