I take Bentyl, an antispasmodic as well. I am mostly C but sometimes A. It has never affected me like you are talking about. For the first few days, it made me calm, but not anymore. I don't see where it helps much, to be honest with you. I think it is just a waste of money. I take it in the morning, and my GI said I can take it up to four times a day, if needed. Once I get an attack, however, they don't help. They only help me for pain and spasms if I take it before an attack, and how in the world can you tell if you are about to have an attack? I can't, I just start spasming and turn six months pregnant in 5 seconds flat. Ha ha. It's not funny to laugh about IBS pain/symptoms, but if you have to live with it, might as well take it! I hope something of this helps!
