I thought you might be talking about licorice

Mannitol and sorbitol are alcohol sugars used as artificial sweeteners that are known to exacerbate IBS symptoms in some people. See Heather's FAQ under "Are artificial sweeteners safe for IBS?".

The inulin in the German chocolate is a type of soluble fiber that can be a problem for some people too. See Heather's comments on this web page. Fructose can be a problem for some people too. See the item in Heather's newsletter "How can I avoid fructose and sorbitol?" However, not everyone has problems with fructose. I have problems with even small amounts of inulin and fructose. You might have to try them to see how they work for you.

Thanks for posting the link about the inulin! I sure thought that I had read every page on this site, but somehow I missed that inulin wasn't good. My gastro doctor has me taking FiberSure which is 100% inulin!! Now why doesn't he know better? I have also been taking Acacia. I'm gonna switch over to just Acacia now.
Thanks Again!
