Mannitol and sorbitol are alcohol sugars used as artificial sweeteners that are known to exacerbate IBS symptoms in some people. See Heather's FAQ under "Are artificial sweeteners safe for IBS?".

The inulin in the German chocolate is a type of soluble fiber that can be a problem for some people too. See Heather's comments on this web page. Fructose can be a problem for some people too. See the item in Heather's newsletter "How can I avoid fructose and sorbitol?" However, not everyone has problems with fructose. I have problems with even small amounts of inulin and fructose. You might have to try them to see how they work for you.
