~a month ago, I tested positive in a lactose intolerance breath test. I was told by my dietitian that I should have yogurt, because it has much less lactose than normal milk, and also it has probiotic organisms. I never have had big trouble digesting dairy (but since my IBS I've hardly had any).
So, yesterday, I ate a bowl of vanilla nonfat yogurt with my lunch, and that night got incredibly gassy, the gassiest I can ever remember being in my life. Besides the yogurt, I had a higher than average amount of fruit and acidic food, and can't think of anything besides that which could have set me off.
Can yogurt be harmful for IBS? Should I take a lactate pill before eating it?
Thanks
