With that history you want to be really aware of your symptoms since you may end up not just having IBS. Try to learn as much as you can and be proactive. Don't fall into the pain pill trap; doctors recommend pain pills no matter what but they can make your symptoms worse. Get on a fiber supplement like acacia and drink lots of peppermint tea and take peppermint caps. The peppermint helps ease the pain. Also try a heating pad!
We are here to help.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
