Re: Gluten intolerance and ibs       01/28/09 06:05 PM Edit Reply Quote Jenny B Reged: 03/27/07 Posts: 126 Loc: Montana I myself was tested for celiac and it came back negative, but I still follow a wheat free diet, and am remarkably better than I used to be! If I eat gluten it comes from oats or barley or rye, but even then that amount is small. I have been avoiding wheat for about 2 1/2 years now and I know for sure that was one of the foods that had kept me so sick for so long. I would keep your daughter on a gluten free diet, I am 21 so I understand the frustration of your 18 year old daughter. Let her know that she is not alone!
