Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

This is how my IBS started in June. I went on a total liquid diet for 48 hours (per my doctor) & then started to slowly add safe solid foods. I also started taking Bentyl 30 minutes before I ate. The Bentyl seemed to make the D at least wait until I finished eating.

What really seemed to help me is probiotics & fiber. I take Digestive Advantage for Crohns & Colitis (it helps with D) twice a day & I'm up to 20 grams of Acacia Fiber a day. I now only have D about once a week, usually only in the mornings before work.
I do have the Immodium cycle. If I take it for my D I will be C for several days before the Revenge D comes about. The C days are usually full of bloating & pain, so really no relief.
All of that to say, You are Not Alone!! I know how you feel and it truly does suck! Just know that like everything else with IBS this phase to will surely pass. Keep the Faith!
