Su, my old friend Jack is Jack Daniels. He's gotten me thru some real tough times in my life; however, this time he's let me down. I think Jack and I are finished forever. I like him, but my tummy does NOT.
Does your hubby understand the pain you go through with your IBS? Certainly he would be more supportive if he did? When he's sick, do you "wait" on him, you know -- serve him soup in bed, give him back rubs, etc.? It's only fair that he do the same, right?
Yes, I am lucky. When I hurt, so does Don. He serves me peppermint tea in bed, gets my meds for me, and when I run out he goes to the pharmacy and buys more. But when he's sick, I do the same for him. It's only fair.
And this morning, he said he was really craving coffee (which I gave up a week ago). I asked him to please go into town and stop by the espresso stand and buy himself a cup -- but DON'T bring any home. And that's what he did. He did not want to tempt me. He's a good man. Think I'll keep him.
Does your hubby like chocolate? Why not make him our infamous ADBs (Anti-Depressant Brownies)? He doesn't have to know they're IBS-safe, and if he likes chocolate, he'll LOVE them -- and you can eat them too.
Here's to a good New Year!
Bev.
