weaning off Librax

I was diagnosed with IBS-D 8 years ago and was prescribed librax at the time. I also changed my diet (cutting out dairy and red meat) but not too drastically as the meds kept me pretty stable. Now my husband and I want to get pregnant sometime in the next year so I am trying to stop using Librax. For about 7 years I took 4 pills a day and now am down to 2, with the help of Heather's diet, Acacia Fiber, peppermint and the Hypnotherapy tapes. Now I am trying to cut down to one pill per day but am having a lot of trouble with this step. Does anyone have experience with stopping librax - or any other drugs? Librax can be habit forming, but the symptoms which are bothering me are not the headaches or difficulty sleeping. I am frustrated that my bowels feel like I am right back where I started 8 years ago! I know I am taking much better care of myself these days - eating better, sleeping more, doing yoga. I am trying to keep that in mind and not let my anxiety take over.
My doctor prescribed me Celexa and Bentyl to tame the anxiety and cramping as I stop using the Librax. He also gave me Pamine Forte to take if the Bentyl is not effective. Has anyone used these drugs? Any suggestions? I would eventually like to get to a place where I am not using any prescription drugs but my doc thought it was better to take a step from the habit forming Librax to some non habit forming meds first. Any experiences or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
