Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | has anyone here actually tried colon cleansing?

Hi! This Saturday I am going to a colon cleansing hypotherapy doctor. I know colon cleansing is not popular around here, but most messages I have read about colon cleansing has stated they have never actually tried it, but because of what other people have said or some article that they read they have decided to stay away from it. I am not sure exactly how many different colon cleanse processes are out there but, this doctor just uses water. I talked to a very close friend of mine that was having some terrible issues with her stomach and bowels, her doc told her it was IBS also. She tried everything and finally went to one of these doctors that cleanse with water and she said it was the best thing she has ever done! She said afterwards to maintain it you have to of course, keep on a healthy diet and she takes probiotics and hasnt had any problems since. And that has been at least 10 years ago. I am not saying it will work for everyone, but maybe we shouldn't go as far to say it a scam or its not for people with IBS, when clearly it has worked for some people, and I am hoping it will do the same for me. I mean really what do we have to lose?:)
