Good question- When we take antibiotics, we put fungal toxins in our body (most antibiotics are made from fungi) and we destroy the protective, intestinal bacteria in our body. These bacteria normally prevent fungal overgrowth in our body. We set ourselves up for yeast and fungal overgrowth, as well as mycotoxin-production by these yeasts. Many health problems have been linked to fungi:asthma, FM, CD, UC, diabetes, cancer, high cholesterol, CFS, psoriasis, weight problems, ....
Use of antibiotics is associated with increased risk of incident of fatal breast cancer. (JAMA Feb. 2004)

I think antibiotics have their place, obviously, but for me and my family, I would use them only as a last resort or for life-saving measures. You have to do your own research and decide for yourself if antibiotics are right for you. No one else can decide that. Just be informed.
Mycotoxins (fungal poisons) are also commonly found in our grain supply, including corn (JAMA 2002), as well as peanuts. And what do most of our children eat...cereal for breakfast and peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. After taking their antibiotics for all the ear infections they seem to get, of course.
I never realized there was even such a thing as "mycotoxins" until I got sick and decided to do some research myself.
