Re: Antibiotics - what my doctor wants to do       08/07/08 10:43 AM Edit Reply Quote dragonfly Reged: 05/12/08 Posts: 1088 Loc: canada From what I can tell,the problem with antibiotics is that they kill off or seriously effect the good bacteria in our bodies.When the balance is shifted,that leaves room for problems.eg.Bowel issues,stomach problems,yeast overgrowth? I'm not sure exactly,I don't take them unless I have no choice.I try herbal remedies first. The thing is that what might not work for some...might work for you.The only long term problem I can see is that your body may become resistent to them over a long period of time and you may find that they won't always work.Crohns is different than ibs and therefore my not effect your doc.I would get a second opinion before putting anything in your body.This board is great for experiences but you really need qualified docs answering this question.
