I have suffered from IBS for many years. About a year ago I had an experience similar to what you describe. I thought I had a UTI, was prescribed antibiotics, but then the pain returned with no apparent infection. If you read about IC you will find that IBS and IC are associated. You need to get a book about IC and follow the diet. Between eating for IBS and eating for IC I sometimes wonder what exactly I can eat anymore. I can tell you that, for me, the worst trigger for IC pain is wine or anything acidic. I saw that nearly every fruit was on the NO list for IC. So I quit eating fruit completely. Oddly enough I noticed that when I quit eating fruit one of my most frustrating IBS symptoms (bloating and gas) almost COMPLETELY went away. But it is not all good news. Honestly the IC pain is so bad it makes IBS seem like fun in comparison. I honestly feel bad for you and hope that it is only a passing thing for you. Follow the diet. Also, this is going to sound weird, but I finally went to see a physical therapist who is specially trained in women's issues including IBS and urinary problems. She has helped me enormously. So you might consider trying to find someone like her in your area. Good luck!
