Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | So sorry to gross you out

Hi everyone. I've been off the boards for some time now bc I've been feeling great! Only "episodes" if I eat something I already know to avoid so all is well. Here's the problem. For the past 8 days straight I have had some serious (and smelly) gas! Seriously 8 days! It involves cramping and the absolute need to pass. I've done what I always do when considering the whys of why I'm feeling off. I've reviewed my food intake. I thought it could be one of two things: I tried a different brand of applesauce and ate condensed soup probably 3 times last week (which I never eat - who can tell what they put in those cans). So, of course, I eliminated both all together. No success - gas is the same. I've added back the normal kind of applesauce since I love it and I'm gassy anyways (I always eat after a carb). I have had my period for about 10 days straight (yes unusual but I have irreg cycles) the whole time I've been gassy and I have a terrible cold the whole time too. Do ya think it could be a result of both what the cold is doing to my insides (its a bad cold!) and the cold medicine I'm taking to keep me going everyday??? Its really embarrassing. I've practically driven my husband out of the house and I teach 7th grade!!!! Help!
