I get panic attacks when I feel my symptoms flaring up. I can't breathe and my chest hurts. I get sweaty and have hot flashes. It usually only lasts until my IBS attack is subsiding. Counting helps redirect your brain or deep breathing,try changing your train of thought sometimes it helps sometimes not so much...very frustrating...hope this helps.
