Hi guys,
Thaks for all your input. Unfortunately I didn't get to read it on Friday as I ended up in hospital! My first IBS hospital visit. What fun...not! Needles all over me, the doctor prodding my tummy and asking which side hurts most!
The A/E staff were great actually - I got an anti-spasmodic injection to calm my tummy down which helped. Turned out it was colic. (How do babies survive this????). They let me go home after a few hours, but I ended up having a migraine that evening - predictable after a day with no food or drink! Anyway, feeling loads better now and am trying to stick to soluble fibre foods.
The doctors there actually managed to find out what's been wrong with me for, like, 2 months! I have an enlarged thyroid and a UTI. I'm so peeved at my GP - can't believe they didn't spot this!!! Getting meds on Monday, so hopfully then I will feel properly better!
Thanks again for all the great advice. I will certainly keep it in mind. Oh, and if any of you do drink beer, stay AWAY from stout (Guiness, real ale, etc.)! It ain't worth it.
