Hi everyone and all newbies, I have tried to fight Heather's sensible advice when I just HAD to have a hamburger or just HAD to have ice cream, or butter, or cheese cake, etc. etc. And of course I found out it was not worth it. The embarrassment of going out to dinner and spending a good part of the time in the Ladies Room having such a severe attack you consider asking for EMT service is not worth it. I finally broke down and blubbered my way through Heather's cookbook and found the right way to eat.
There is so much out there now. And yes you can get used to soy products. I have to admit it didn't happen until I used an enzyme pill before meals, but I am older, so folks over fifty have trouble digesting. The enzyme helped so much. However, it does not let me eat dairy foods or fried foods - no I must abide by Heather's laws when it comes to those things or I just end up paying a price I don't like.
Learn the drill, use Heather's wonderful books and recipes. Drink the teas. I don't use Acacia, but I plan to start soon. It's something I keep forgetting to do, but I don't forget the guidelines. I buy organic, I buy dairy free products, I read ingredients on labels, I am sooooo careful about insoluable fiber - BUT there are still lots and lots of good things to eat.
