The consequences are too far from the trigger

Hi all
I haven't been on this site for a while, as I have been well, but alas, it always comes back. A problem that I have been having is that I "can" eat whatever I want for a week with no symptoms, and then the next week I suffer with severe constipation, bloating and pain. Then I take my fiber and eat sensibly, and then feel better. Then two weeks later the whole cycle happens again. I can't seem to motivate myself to eat well during the periods when I feel great (even when I am eating poorly for IBS). Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, do you have any tips or things you do to stay on track? I almost wish that i had immediate consequences to motivate me to eat well!
Thanks for your help in advance!
Danielle
