Sarah, I'm so glad you're doing so much better! I'm also trying to stick to GF but recently realized that I've been eating a lot of it unknowingly (in sauces, etc.) so I have to be more careful. I'm curious what the dietitian has to say about your food log - please let us know .
Jordy, the reason I haven't been on here much lately is because I felt like I was getting too paranoid about every possible food that made someone else sick. I realized that I need to figure out what causes ME problems and that I need to take it slow. For example, someone posts here that they have problems with bananas, so I'm like, OMG, I eat them all the time! So I stop for a few days and then I remember days when I was doing pretty well while eating them so I incorporate them again. I felt like I was jumping from one approach to another with mixed results. But I couldn't abandon the site completely so I was still checking new posts . I've been thinking about why I was doing so well while I was in Italy a month ago. I was really constipated (always like that when I travel) but no bloating and no pain. I was sticking to GF and mostly EFI (sometimes I ate a few fries, sometimes couldn't get SF with my meal, etc. - no big cheating though). I tried to stick to the same diet when I got back but my problems came back (although not as bad as when eating gluten) and it hit me that I also ate very little sugar at that time! And now I'm definitely eating more, I love York Peppermint Patties so I have a bunch of those pretty much every other day, I drink dairy free hot chocolate - all that extra sugar! So for the next few days I'm going to try and stick to GF, EFI, and low sugar (just from fruits) and see what happens.
