Not working is not an option for many of us. After I got diagnosed and realized that stress played a big part in my attacks I have consciously worked on the stress and I have changed the way I work. First, I changed my hours so that I could avoid the worst of traffic. Second, I stopped handling the more stressful types of cases (I am an attorney). Third, I set aside time during the day to destress or unwind and use that time to meditate, do yoga or just plain veg out. I work for myself so it was easier in many ways to make the changes I made. However, I believe that anyone can incorporate certain changes and if you determine that your job is making you sick then you need a new job--quiting and staying home is not a good option unless you truly have that financial freedom and then I would be concerned about reinforcing phobias that are related to the mind/gut thing.
