About 8 years ago the there was a change in the definition of fiber. You can read more about the changes to the definition of fiber in this message. Now resistant starches found in things like rice, oatmeal, potatoes, beans and pasta which act like SF are included in the definition of fiber. Here is a brief article on resistant starches. Unfortunately, food manufacturers are not required to report the amount of resistant starch on the food label.
I get my SF by having oatmeal for breakfast and at least 1/2 cup of rice, pasta, potatoes or other resistant starch containing foods with each meal.
