Maltodextrin & guar gum - Is Duane Reade Fiber Powder a wise choice?       02/15/08 10:24 PM Edit Reply Quote rasputin Reged: 02/15/08 Posts: 66 I'm IBS-D and I had been taking Metamucil with disastrous consequences. Thank god this site exists so it could steer me away from it. I stopped at Duane Reade pharmacy and picked up their store brand fiber powder. the ingredient list is - maltodextrin and guar gum. Are these ingredients safe? they're clearly not the potential destruction that is metamucil. anyway, down the hatch it goes. we'll see how i feel tomorrow morning.
