Why is it that there are foods that we used to be able to eat...but now they cause attacks?

I used to be able to eat practically anything and the only time my IBS-D would act up was if I was extremely nervous ...i.e...going to school, meeting new people, going to work, etc. etc. etc....

Now, though, at 35 years old and for the past 9 or 10 years....I have to really watch what I eat or it causes an attack the next day and I get nervous just at the thought of being away from home when it happens.

Is there any way to get back to "normal"?
