There may be no side effects visible now, but you you don't know how these products in excess can effect you later down the road. For instance, I think I read somewhere that if you take more than the recommended dosage of antacids, over a long period of time, you can negatively effect your homocysteine levels...and that can be bad for your heart. You have to be careful taking any medication in excess. In any event, talk to your doctor if you are unsure. We already suffer with our IBS...no need to make matters worse!
