Allergies seems to be my only trigger for D and that only happens in the morning right after I get my allergy shots now. I still get the shots, but I'm much less allergic now.

My internist, allergist, psychologist and gastro all agree that I had "histamine induced" IBS.

I've been taking immunotherapy (allergy shots) for a year and my IBS-D is almost gone! I was severely allergic to dogs, dustmites and cats. And when I used to live with a dog (I don't now) non-stop IBS-D I was totally disabled even eating the IBS diet. Meds didn't help. Nothing helped until I got my allergies tested. NO, no food alleriges either.

If you look up histamine in wikipedia it reads...

"Histamine is a biogenic amine involved in local immune responses as well as regulating physiological function in the gut and acting as a neurotransmitter.[1] "

So this makes sense. Amazing. Too much histamine CAN make the gut malfunction - spasming etc...I went year blaming the food - and I was wrong. How many others like me are there out there? People need to know.
