Gas problem

Hi everyone. I have had the extreme IBS for about 10 years and great success in reducing the frequency of severe problems since following Heathers recommendations for soluble fiber and avoiding trigger foods. My big problem now is that I am so much better that I can eat just about everything but I get gas and pain from it very often. I am going to try going back to the fennel (i crush it) tea today but I really thing I have to modify my diet somehow. I am wondering what is causing my gas. It sure it better than having severe cramping/cold sweats that I had in the past but I am finding the gas is debilitating and preventing me from enjoying alot of my life. Depressing in fact! I also frequently get small amounts of mucous with a BM or when I have gas. What the heck is causing this? When I was much younger, pre-IBS days...I never had any mucous or gas pains like this! Any suggestions? Fructose has been discussed here but I do not know where to start. Help (again!)
Thanks, Arthur
