Sorbitol Medicine       10/16/07 10:21 AM Edit Reply Quote Zara Reged: 06/07/06 Posts: 883 My new GI doctor prescribed a medicine called Sorbitol to treat my C. When I asked if this was the same thing as the artificial sweetener he said "no" but then I looked it up and I am suspicious that that's exactly what it is! I react pretty bad to candies containing sorbitol so I am hesitant to take this medicine. He said it wouldn't make me bloated but that's exactly what sugar free candies do to me.
